NFL Week 3 Preview, Picks, Odds and Power Rankings

Top 5 Week 3 Games

  • Atlanta Falcons @ Detroit Lions
  • Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Minnesota Vikings
  • Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers
  • New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

I would love to believe that the Thursday Night Football Game gave us a glimpse of what Sunday could be. But I doubt it. It’s a lot of bad football games on paper this weekend.

My 2017 Record: 19-12

Fans 2017 Record: 21-10

OT50YL Picks Against The Spread: 10-16

  1. Atlanta Falcons (2)

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (4)

  2. Pittsburgh Steelers (3)

  3. Oakland Raiders (8)

  4. New England Patriots (7)

  5. Denver Broncos (NR)

  6. Philadelphia Eagles (10)

  7. Seattle Seahawks (9)

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NR)

  9. Green Bay Packers (5)

Los Angeles Rams (1-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (0-2)

My Pick: Los Angeles Rams

Fan Pick:

What I think: While this is a great coaching battle, the 49ers are such an untalented team with a weenie at quarterback. The Rams defense should feast on this OL and QB.

Spread:

Point Total:

Baltimore Ravens (2-0) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1)

My Pick: Baltimore Ravens

Fan Pick:

What I think: Another year, another Jaguars game in London. Sure, the Ravens are a playoff contending team but this is still another putrid matchup in terms of trying to garner interest in another country. But you know what? My ass will still be up and watching this game at 9:30am.

Spread: Baltimore -3 1/2

Point Total: 38 1/2 (under)

Denver Broncos (2-0) @ Buffalo Bills (1-1)

My Pick: Denver Broncos

Fan Pick:

What I think: I’m trying to find reasons to give Buffalo a chance in this game and I can’t. Denver is going to focus on stopping the run and I have no reason to think this passing game will do jack shit against the No Fly Zone.

Spread: Denver -3 1/2

Point Total: 39 (over)

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) @ Chicago Bears (0-2)

My Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers

Fan Pick:

What I think: You honestly never know when it comes to the Steelers and games against bad teams. Shit, I still have nightmares about about Mike Glennon and that game winning drive he led in 2014 when the Bucs came to Heinz Field and won one of their 2 games on the season. The Steelers offense is still attempting to find its groove and it would be very nice if they found it on Sunday.

Spread: Pittsburgh -7 1/2

Point Total: 44 (over)

Carolina Panthers (2-0) @ New Orleans Saints (0-2)

My Pick: New Orleans Saints

Fan Pick:

What I think: The Panthers offense has been struggling but this seems like a perfect week for them to turn it on against a terrible Saints defense that will be missing it’s 2nd best player, rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore. But for some reason my gut is telling me to go with the Saints.

Spread: New Orleans +6

Point Total: 46 (under)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-1)

My Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Fan Pick:

What I think: As long as Case Keenum is the starter, he’s liable to have a Case Keenum game. That can either be good or bad. The Bucs looked really good last week. Let’s see Jameis against this talented Vikings defense.

Spread: Tampa Bay -3

Point Total: 39 1/2 (over)

Cleveland Browns (0-2) @ Indianapolis Colts (0-2)

My Pick: Cleveland Browns

Fan Pick:

What I think: For once, the Browns have the more talented team. This is one of the games they are supposed to win to show things are changing.

Spread: Cleveland -1

Point Total: 42 1/2 (under)

Miami Dolphins (1-0) @ New York Jets (0-2)

My Pick: Miami Dolphins

Fan Pick:

What I think: This will probably be one of the most boring games of the week.

Spread: New York +6 1/2

Point Total: 43 1/2 (under)

Houston Texans (1-1) @ New England Patriots (1-1)

My Pick: New England Patriots

Fan Pick:

What I think: The Texans offense is uglier than usual so I’m sure the Texans will hang around early because of defense before eventually getting blown out.

Spread: New England -14

Point Total: 45 (over)

Atlanta Falcons (2-0) @ Detroit Lions (2-0)

My Pick: Atlanta Falcons

Fan Pick:

What I think: I have no idea why everyone is expecting this to be so close. The Lions have played 2 mediocre teams and now their facing an NFC Super Bowl contender.

Spread: Atlanta -3

Point Total: 51 (over)

New York Giant (0-2) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)

My Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

Fan Pick:

What I think: Philadelphia’s defensive line will single handedly win this game.

Spread: Philadelphia -6

Point Total: 43 1/2 (under)

Seattle Seahawks (1-1) @ Tennessee Titans (1-1)

My Pick: Seattle Seahawks

Fan Pick:

What I think: This is a good test for the Titans offense.

Spread: Tennessee -3

Point Total: 41 (over)

Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) @ Los Angeles Chargers (0-2)

My Pick: Los Angeles Chargers

Fan Pick:

What I think: The Chargers are a few missed field goals away from being 2-0. I expect them to play the Chiefs very well and finish the game out

Spread: Los Angeles +3

Point Total: 47 1/2 (under)

Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) @ Green Bay Packers (1-1)

My Pick: Green Bay Packers

Fan Pick:

What I think: AJ Green will see a shit ton of targets for sure but it probably won’t be enough.

Spread: Green Bay -8

Point Total: 46 1/2 (over)

Oakland Raiders (2-0) @ Washington Redskins (1-1)

My Pick: Oakland Raiders

Fan Pick:

What I think: This might be a Raiders blowout win depending on which Kirk Cousins shows up.

Spread: Oakland -3 1/2

Point Total: 54 1/2 (over)

Dallas Cowboys (1-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-1)

My Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Fan Pick:

What I think: The Cowboys should be able to bounce back from the loss to the Broncos the previous week. Nothing exciting about this game at all.

Spread: Dallas -3 1/2

Point Total: 46 1/2 (under)
